Electroplating

Electroplating

The manufacture of modern, high quality jewellery is dependent on a technically well set up electroplating unit as well as a highly qualified electroplater able to handle even highly toxic substances.
For each piece of jewellery, electroplating is the last step before entering sales. Here, the piece of jewellery will be polished again to a high shine if necessary, and then cleaned and degreased ultrasonically.
For the gold jewellery, the galvanic process has been comple ted at this point, however, for silver jewellery, the surface will be treated separately. For silver jewellery, a fine silver plating is added in an electrolytic bath, which will protect it from tarnishing using passivation, a kind of electrolytic varnish. Silver jewellery can also be gold plated or oxidised (blackened).
At the heart of our electroplating unit are our modern electrolytic baths which have been furnished with the most up-to-date technology, among others with a closed water circuit. This guarantees that no toxic substances are able enter the waste water. This way, we can guarantee absolute environmental safety and rule out completely any possibility of an accident in this area. As an added precaution, each bath has its own collection tray. The closed water circuit runs via a filtering device with special cartridges, which filter and clean the entire water system. This ensures furthermore that all metal particles suspended in the water (gold, silver etc.) can be captured and recycled.
